While brushing and flossing is a must, mouthwash acts as a compliment for the former two techniques for additional oral hygiene. An antimicrobial mouthwash would kill more bacteria than any other product. 

Take a healthy diet

We have often heard to control the intake of sugary drinks such as tea, coffee, soda and other energy drinks with added sugar as the bacteria in the mouth transforms this extra sugar into lactic acid which dissolves the enamel and the minerals of the teeth thus causing cavities. Instead, you may add foods in your diet that are natural whiteners. For example, apple, carrot, celery, cucumber, pear, and lettuce, all fibrous in nature and when taken in raw form, it scrubs the enamel of the tooth and cleans the plaque and tartar that gives your teeth a yellow texture and causes cavities.
